You either go write it on the french post orrrr, my lovelies, you can re-write it in english! That should be a good practice!

Re: What are you planning for later?

Re: What are you planning for later?
haha nice nice
A Stewardess is what you're looking for here!
And i'm quite thinking about it too actually! I'm studying photography right now but i want to travel the world and i think being flight attendant (other way to say it) is a great way to do it!
I didn't talk to my parents about that yet, i'm doing photography first and then i'll see what i'll do afterwards!

I'm thinking about being a flight attendant too! But as Florala said, I'm studying now and I'll see later what I'll do. Haven't talked to my parents about it either...
Leeya, there is LEA and LLCE in France that you could do about languages. I'm doing LLCE and I kinda like it (not that I don't like what we learn, I just don't like being in France!) It is quite interesting, most of my classes are in English. I also have Spanish bit I'm dropping it second semester. Too hard for me. I'm taking Portuguese as a beginner instead!
See, it's all about languages! But there is also journalism, FLE, politics, translator, ... and the subjects are given in English (or another language if you decide to major in something else than English).

Re: What are you planning for later?
Once I'm done with my Senior year in France, which mean in two years since i need to repeat my year -_-', I'm gonna try to get into Sciences Po, and if i fail (which i probably will haha) i'll do a prépa (I'm not sure about the word cuz i dont think there's anything like that except in France, it's not college but its not high school, idk how to explain it...).
If I can't get into Science Po (political science) and if I get into a prépa, I'll try an Interpretation and Translation Institute in Paris...
I also consider going with Calvin Thomas but I'm not sure yet...
Anyway, I still have a few years to think about it, at least I have several options haha

Re: What are you planning for later?

I actually don't want to stay in France any longer. I don't like the school system ...
So I'd like to go to college in the US, in England or in Italy and study foreign languages there.
If I really can't go to any of these countries, I'd go to a prépa, khâgne or hypokhâgne .. My mom doesn't want me to do neither a license LLCE nor LEA because she thinks it's too easy and I'd better do khâgne or hypokhâgne ...
I'd like to become an interpreter so I should go to the UNIGE in Geneve or in the ESIT or ISIT in Paris ... But I don't want to stay in France !
So I'll do my best to raise fund and go to another country to study, even if it's more expensive.

Re: What are you planning for later?
I wanna do like you Rina, i can't see myself here any longer after my exchange year, i'd like to study in England or Mexico ( something like spanish country )
Aline, my sister actually does LEA studies and i can see dat is very good, she got a lot of opportunities and travels a lot ..
I got time to think about but i can't imagine my life without speaking foreign languages !

I'm saving money to go with Calvin Thomas after my 3rd year too. And I'LL GO!! HahaRina wrote:I am thinking about going with Calvin Thomas too ...

LLCE easy? Yah right! Tell your mom she can come and study for me if she wants! (No offense!) Grammar is freaking complicated (I thought I knew English quite well ... hum I just thought!), translation is really hard too because you have to modulate everything without transforming the original text. And you have to know French very well, because you have penalty if you make grammar or spelling mistake!
And I have tons of history! Oh gosh, 12 countries that use English and I have to know their history, with dates, names, places ...
Re: What are you planning for later?
Yeah I think she's exaggerating ... But she made great studies (she didn't speak French when she arrived here and then she got her CAPES and became a French teacher at university), like my father and brothers ... She thinks that licenses are not as good as khâgne or hypokhâgne, so she wants me to do the best studies as possible (or at least anything but not a license --')
Re: What are you planning for later?
I didn't even know what khâgne meant! I looked it up on wikipedia and well I still don't really understand.
I just want to do FLE and be a French teacher abroad. I'm not gonna do my CAPES or any of that crap in France. Way too hard. I don't like this thing that is based on contest and stuff.I mean if you good, they supposed to give you a diploma, you don't have to be in the first 30 best students in France or whatever. Oh well it has always been like that. I don't even know why I stupidly decided to come to France. I'll do an aggregation in Belgium if I need.
I agree, you don't go very far with a license but at least you can find something after studying 3 years only.

Re: What are you planning for later?
I know that but no one in my family started working after only 3 years of college ... I can't be an exception ... And I don't want to.
I agree that the French system is based on contest and stuff an it kind of sucks. (that's why I'll try not to study in this country) But still, my mum is proud of her CAPES and she has the right to because it's great to have it and it helped her a lot !

Re: What are you planning for later?
I don't know what I want to do after high school. I still have one year left, but I have NO idea. I'd like to study in London because I LOVE this city. But first I have to figure out what I want to study !
Re: What are you planning for later?
I wasn't sure until the end of last what I wanted to do then after talking a lot with my host mom, I decided I was going to study nursing and I love it, it's very rewarding to be able, after studying only 3 months to have an internship and have people tell you they're happy with what you do for them. Both my parents went to university for 4 years (so a master's degree which is now in 5 years but used to be in 4 here in belgium) and they were kind of disappointed I was just going to have a bachelor's but after that I want to study one more year and become a nurse in community health to work in schools (either in a PMS so mostly going in schools, talking about MST or hygiene or stuff and also have a counseling role, or in a PSE which means I'd help for the yearly physicals kids have to attend with school).

Re: What are you planning for later?
Of course your mom can be proud of her CAPES! That's what I'm saying. People who have a CAPES are the best of the best!Rina wrote:I know that but no one in my family started working after only 3 years of college ... I can't be an exception ... And I don't want to.

Marie, I sort of understand why your parents were a bit disappointed but after all, the best is that you study what you like! It can be cool working in a PMS even though I hated going there when I was in high school!
Agathe, you still have time, no worry! And if you'd like to study in London, you can start looking for schools, you may find one that doesn't have huge fees.
Re: What are you planning for later?
I used to hate having to go to the PSE for the physical but the one I went to this year with my college was nicer than the one I had to go to in high school. As for the PMS I know someone who works there but as a psychologist and the teamwork there is what attracts me. I liked interning at the hospital but I can't see myself do that for 40 years...

Re: What are you planning for later?
Oh sorry I didn't see your post! For my 3rd year I'll go to Portugal with Erasmus, I'm praying for it!Leeya wrote:Aline where do you want to study after your 3rd year ?
And then I'll go with Calvin Thomas in the USA. I would like Indiana. If it is not with Calvin Thomas, my school has a direct program with a uni in Indiana (but no scholarship so more expensive than Calvin Thomas and my parents won't like it).
Re: What are you planning for later?
WEll I don't really know what I wanna do later ... I mean I'm studying at IAD (a cinema school), it's really interesting and fun (even if sometimes you just wanna do things for fun and not because you're afraid of failing if you do it wrong, like when the teacher ask you to draw something 6 times cause he don't like it but you can't do it better ^^).
But I know one thing: I hate cold and snow (no, I actually don't hate it ... let's say I don't really like it, it's ok for a few days ... but not a few weeks or months!), so I would like to live somewhere where it's nicely warm (not to hot either). And I would like to be near the sea So maybe I'll live in California if I work as a special effects maker for movies =)

Re: What are you planning for later?
I'm currently sudying LEA in France, and like you Aline, I thought my english was good, but grammar's kind of tougher than expected haha.
I really don't know what I wanna do after. Oh yeah! next summer you might see me in Disneyland since I applied for a job there haha.
No kidding. I don't like studying in France but my University (Aix-Marseille), offers a 3 year program (LEA EUROPE) which is daaang interesting (once again, it's for the best of the best ONLY -_-'). I'll apply to that and pray very very hard. (a year in Ireland or belgium, then one year in Spain and finally a first year of master degree back here..).
